Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

At EOPTIC, we’re known for designing innovative technologies that answer a slew of unmet requirements related to complex imaging problems — and we need a self-motivated problem-solver to help us deliver these end-to-end, bespoke solutions. We’re currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to assist in implementing strategies, product evaluation, and ultimately build upon an infrastructure that supports the ever-changing needs of our customers. In this role, you will assist in the mechanical design and development of complex imaging systems and integrating them at every stage of the life cycle. Job Responsibilities

– Develop solid models that achieve design requirements using best design practices and industry design standards.

– Create detailed technical product drawings and customer product specification drawings utilizing GD&T standards. Carry out engineering change requests and BOM updates.

– Complete tolerance stack-up analysis and design simulation activities including FEA.

– Create and use engineering design guides and standards.

– Develop and document manufacturing and testing procedures.

 

Qualifications Required

– BS or MS In Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of closely related hands-on experience in design of opto-mechanical imaging systems.

– Specialized Knowledge: Optics, imaging, and engineering.

– Special Skills: Experience and knowledge of factory automation, industrial inspection and complex EO systems for harsh environments.

– Extensive experience with mechanical drafting standards and solid modeling is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

– Solidworks experience preferred.

– Strong proficiency with tolerance analysis of mechanical assemblies.

– Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving and data analysis methods.

– Experience with machine vision components, optics, automated imaging inspection systems, and color measurement is a plus.

– Previous experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), ISO standards and Lean Manufacturing concepts desired.

– Machining experience a plus.
